Can a CT-SIM door look like a standard hospital door?

Yes — that is exactly how we build them. The lead lining sits invisibly inside the leaf and frame, while the visible surfaces carry wood veneer, laminate or custom finishes matched to your interior.

Can the door include an observation window?

Yes. A lead glass window with shielding equivalence matched to the door lining can be integrated into the leaf where the room layout benefits from direct visual contact with the patient.

Is a CT-SIM door specification also valid for a PET-CT room?

No — PET-CT rooms must additionally shield the 511 keV annihilation photons from the injected patient, which are far more penetrating than CT scatter and demand a substantially different specification. We design doors for both modalities, each from its own calculation.
